POD #30 for Thursday, September 13th, 2007

This is from Monaco's - a little restaurant place in Rhinebeck. Mom & I had breakfast here together on Sept. 24th, 2007, when we were on one of our walks (same morning I took the fountain pics below).

Their food was ok. Service was ok. They seem pretty popular - there were many people coming into to get breakfast . . on their way to starting their days.

They have seating inside or out, and we choose to sit outside because the weather was fabulous.

These photos were taken on September 24th, 2007 (Monday). I went to my mom's & we went up into town (Rhinebeck) & went for a walk. We've been trying to walk a few times a week, when we have the chance.

Anyways, along the way, one of the places - I thought was a house (is an Art business), had this beautiful fountain out front. The first photo isn't too great, but then I got a better one.

Well - here I am again! POD for Monday August 27th, 2007

Well, I sure missed posting my photos! I was just too tired with all that was going on. . and me moping & feeling sorry for myself :O lol

Anyways, so now I am going to catch up & do all my posts, asap.

Back when I had stopped posting, I had started going to school in Cobleskill. So, my post for "today" is a gas sign that is in the town of my previous school, Stone Ridge.

Gas prices on 8/18/07 there, as seen on that sign were 2.95! yuck! I know some of you have it more expensive & some less - so how is everyone's gas prices? Currently, where I get my gas (which is not at this place :} but in Kingston, I paid $2.77/gal when we got gas, Sun (9/9, I think it was). I will get back to posting my faves when I get caught back up! Don't worry, even though I am not posting faves for these missed posts, I will definitely be checking out what I missed!!

SORRY!!!

Been awhile since I last posted - sorry about that. . .things have been crazy. . .

i have had a lot of things going on.

On the 27th, (aug), I started school in cobleskill NY - I want to do their wildlife management program - but i had to withdraw - the commute (2hrs - 1 way) was just too much for me to handle right now - i would have no time to work on projects we were being assigned, as well as my family & stuff at home. . .but since I left, i have been mopin';( no one here really understands how disappointed in myself i am . . .

So, I will be working to add pics to make up for the days i was gone & get back up-to-date!! I have missed ya'll :X

Another Update - the "mirrored" building

Ok, I found the "mirrored" building in Hartford too (Click the link to see a couple other pics & some info)

The official name is "One Corporate Center" - it has 23 floors & was constructed in 1981.

Well, there was the building I posted for Wed the 22nd of Aug. (refer back to see the pic). I was searching the 'net to try & discover what some of the buildings where I had photos of.

POD #14 Sunday, August 26th, 2007

I apologize in advance - this post is going to be a bit long, & more than 1 photo:)

Today, we went to my parents for the afternoon & had dinner there. On the way home, I had to stop at Walmart & then get gas (I wanted to fill up for my trip to school - it's a 1hr drive 1 way). Just as I finished at the gas station, got back in the car, put my belt on & started it, the fire whistle went off. One of the fire dept. in Kingston is right across from the gas station I use. So, this is my tribute to one of our local fire depts:)

(BTW, I posted about the bldgs from CT as updates:) I am also still working on my faves for the week - so unless they list US & "other countries" they are not complete:)

Back up-to-date now;) Monday I start school, so there may be a few days I will do things like this. I know. I'm sorry, I will do my best to do 1 a day though, even if I add faves & details later;)

Anyhow, my post for today is a "steaming" building. This photo was also taken in Hartford on 8/18. What do you suppose it is??




This building is (we believe I can't remember for sure - and since I only got this part of the bldg - it's hard to say - I searched online & couldn't find it yet) a part of the Tilcon plant there - they are a cement plant type thing - my husband says he thinks this orange-thingy (LOL - my phrasing;) is one of the evaporators.

Sorry for my late post! We got home at 2am from Ozzfest & then slept till 9:30 & went to my parents to get the kids. There all day & had dinner :) YUM!! Got home around 5:30-ish, I think it was. Then I worked on posting my faves for Sat. Then, I worked on saving some photos I took off the camera.

Saturday, August 18th, 2007 POD #6

My post for Saturday comes pretty early! This is because I will be gone all day Saturday, late into the nite, possibly early Sun am! We are heading to OZZfest in a few hours, in Hartford CT! :)

My post for today, is another scenic photo from our drive last week to upstate NY. The contrast is something, isn't it??? Funny how I got so many different weather scenes in 1 trip:)

This photo was taken at 1:09 in the afternoon, though, on our way back home. NY truly has some beautiful landscapes, all varieties - big city, small city, town, countryside, farms, etc. Lots of mountainous terrain though, too:)

Brookville Daily Photo - a house finch! These are so cute & tiny! We had a pair of finches make a nest in the top of our propane tank! They hatched 7 babies, only 1 fell from the nest & died (I didn't find it in time;( & the other 6 lived to at the very least, fledge their nest!
Chandler, AZ Daily Photo - this is a hillside that had a fire. Sad, but at the same time, will bring new life to the hillside.
Delta Daily Photo - Interesting photo! Interesting statement too. . . Much truth.
Flying - Ruth posted a great view of a hillside scene in Killarney National Park County Kerry Ireland!

August 14th, 2007 Tuesday POD#2

Today's photos are from Napanoch, NY. This is the Eastern New York Correctional Facility. It is a bit down the road from us & we drove by there this evening (went out & put some gas in the car to get out of the house! MUCH cooler outside!) I found a few PODs today I really liked, so I linked them below;) Check them out.

When we drove to the other end of the prison, there is a train platform there.

On the way back down the road to leave, there is this interesting little "gazebo". I don't imagine too many people are allowed to "sit around" outside the prison! LOL
